From late January to late March I normally guide freeride roadtrips all over the Alps. All these trips are planned on short time to pick the right place to go offpiste skiing. Due to the thin snow layer and warm temperatures, this winter was really challenging. Also we had to deal with a really unstable snow pack because of the persisting old snow problem. Being defensive was a good advise this winter. Anyhow, despite the fact that this winter was maybe the worst I remember, we still had a lot of fun and had some really great skiing.
