This winter was warm with lots of long periods with no fresh snow, also in Engelberg. So it was not the best choice to go offpiste skiing in the classical runs in Engelberg except you like moggles. It was far better to put on the skins, hike up and ski some steep lines in Engelberg valley. Especially in Bannalp area there are some really cool runs, which you reach in a 2.5 hour walk.
